It is expected that after the implementation of the project, the observance of international human rights standards in Lithuania will be strengthened, the awareness of the needs of vulnerable communities will be raised among specialists and journalists, and youth in the regions will be better able to recognise gender-based violence and find ways of responding to it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<table style=\"height: 919px;\" width=\"698\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"198\"><strong>Period<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"403\">2020.11.03 \u2013 2023.11.02<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"198\"><strong>Project coordinator<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"403\">Human Rights Monitoring Institute<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"198\"><strong>Project partner<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"403\">Association \u201cKaunas Women\u2019s line\u201d<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"198\"><strong>Project aim<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"403\">The project aims: a) to strengthen the monitoring of human rights situation in Lithuania by proposing to policy and decision makers public policy solutions that are in line with international human rights standards; b) to mobilize public support for these solutions and build public resilience towards undemocratic and human rights&#8217; restricting initiatives. The project also aims to change the attitudes towards vulnerable groups among the specialists encountering people from vulnerable groups in their work and journalist reporting on these groups, by engaging them into awareness raising activities and including in these activities representatives from vulnerable groups.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: left;\" width=\"198\"><strong>Project activities<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"403\">\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting and presenting public opinion research concerning human rights. Based on the attitudes identified in the research, preparing and publicising expert comments regarding vulnerable groups of the society as well as fundamental personal and political rights.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing, publishing, and presenting periodical overview \u201cHuman Rights in Lithuania 2020-2021\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Providing expert opinions and suggestions for draft legislation; participating in working group meetings of Committee on Human Rights and (or) Committee on Legal Affairs.<\/li>\n<li>Organising public discussions and specialist trainings on gender stereotypes and domestic violence.<\/li>\n<li>Organising trainings for police officers to strengthen their intercultural competences; holding meetings between media representatives and members of communities susceptible to hate crimes.<\/li>\n<li>Organising public discussions on mental health and human rights in three Lithuanian municipalities.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating an informal coalition of NGOs and experts \u201cMental Health 2030\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Disseminating information on project objectives, activities, and results through different communication channels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/hrmi.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5754\" src=\"https:\/\/hrmi.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"221\" height=\"81\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hrmi.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/1.png 470w, https:\/\/hrmi.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/1-300x110.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 221px) 100vw, 221px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The project is supported by the Active citizens fund,\u00a0 financed by EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The project aspires to enhance support to human rights on the levels of public policy, society, and regional communities.
