The aim of this project is to foster integration of human rights based approach into mental health policies and diverse services in Lithuania, as well as the broader region of Eastern Europe and Eurasia (EEE); through research, advocacy, networking and sharing of the know-how across the region. The main short-term goal of the project is to set the direction of mental health and human rights in the EEE region. The long-term goal is to foster the moving of resources in the mental health system towards human rights-based mental health policies, as well as a wider diversity of services and practices.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Project activities<\/strong><\/td>\nThe main activities in Lithuania will consist of leadership and mobilizing of the local NGO and Experts\u2019 Coalition \u2018Mental Health 2030\u2019, as well as active advocacy and monitoring of implementation of the new edition of the Lithuanian Mental Health Law, in light of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.<\/p>\n

Internationally, a stakeholder analysis and mapping study of the broader EEE region, as well as research into the state of mental health and human rights in Eastern Europe and Eurasia will be completed. This will pave the way for building a regional network and establishing partnerships for a platform on deinstitutionalization, inclusion and fostering human rights of persons with mental health problems, intellectual and\/or psychosocial disabilities across Eurasia.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
